The Institute for Social Studies warmly invites to attend the international conference “Recombining Representation During the Transformation from Empires to Nation-States, 1905–1923,” taking place on 15–16 June 2026 in Warsaw. Bringing together leading scholars from across Europe, this two-day event—the second iteration of the Parliamentary Junctures in Continental Europe series—will explore the shifting forms of political representation during a pivotal historical era. The programme features keynote lectures by Heidi Hein-Kircher and Jakub Beneš, alongside thematic panels on regional diets, post-imperial assemblies, cultural heterogeneity, and emerging national parliaments, as well as a special book talk by Ivan Sablin. The conference offers a rich forum for discussion, networking, and exchange among researchers interested in the political transformations of early twentieth-century Europe. Attendance is free of charge upon registration. Full programm in PDF – link to Registration Form
