It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Prof. Janusz Grzelak, co-founder of the Prof. Robert Zajonc Institute for Social Studies at Warsaw University, on April 24, 2025. Professor Robert Zajonc Institute of Social Studies at the University of Warsaw, its former director and long-time member of the Scientific Council, an outstanding social psychologist and a distinguished social activist supporting in particular with dedication generations of young scholars, a distinguished anti-communist opposition activist, participant in the Round Table talks, Deputy Minister of Education in Tadeusz Mazowiecki’s government, selflessly involved in a number of important initiatives for science, human rights and the common good. We bid you farewell Janusz, immersed in sorrow and full of gratitude! The Directorate and Community of the Professor Robert Zajonc Institute for Social Studies.

On May 4, 2025 (Sunday) at 5:00 pm, a Mass will be celebrated for the intention of Prof. Janusz Grzelak in the chapel of the Center for Missionary Animation of the Pallottine Fathers at 15/17 Leśna Street in Konstancin-Jeziorna. In turn, the funeral ceremony will be held on May 7, 2025 (Wednesday) at 11:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home in Room B at the Northern Communal Cemetery in Warsaw (so-called Wólka Węglowa), followed by the escort to the grave.
